BRAIN VACUUM SERVICE

Give your vessel
a second life.

Good vacuum insulation helps limit heat ingress. BRAIN investigates your vessel's condition and discusses whether restoring the insulation is appropriate.

VACUUM INSULATION OF CRYOGENIC VESSELS

Unnecessary nitrogen consumption deserves investigation.

Has consumption increased, is condensation appearing, or has the surface temperature changed? We investigate whether the insulation needs attention and determine the cause from the full situation.

Assess the condition

We examine the temperature profile, use, nitrogen consumption and accessible vacuum connection. Where needed, we recommend a Performance Scan first.

Targeted repair

Depending on the vessel design and findings, we discuss leak testing, repairs or re-evacuating the insulation space between the inner vessel and outer shell.

Assess the outcome

We document the work and readings in test reports that you receive. Follow-up measurements can show how temperature and consumption develop after the work.

RETAIN WHAT WORKS WELL

Give your vessel a second life.

Vacuum service may help an existing vessel perform better again. We first assess whether treatment is technically feasible and worthwhile for your vessel.

The vessel's condition, access to the connection and the cause of the problem determine our approach. Together, we discuss the work and any temporary sample storage required.

YOUR SAMPLES AND THE RESULTS

Temporary storage. Careful treatment. Test reports.

Temporary sample storage in a loan vessel

During the work, your existing samples can be temporarily stored in a loan vessel if needed. We agree the transfer, storage requirements and return of the samples with your team in advance.

Controlled oven and turbomolecular pumps

We can evacuate your vessel in a controlled oven using specialised turbomolecular pumps. This follows the same process used to evacuate new vessels at the factory. We tailor the treatment to the design and technical condition of your vessel.

Test reports for your team

You receive test reports documenting the checks performed, measurement results and our assessment. We explain what the results mean for your vessel and advise on its continued use and maintenance.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

What would you like to know?

Does high nitrogen consumption always mean a vacuum problem?

No. Use, lid openings, filling events, control settings and the supply can also have an influence. We investigate these factors together.

Can all vessels be re-evacuated?

The options depend on the design, vacuum connection and technical condition. We assess these before agreeing on any work.

Can vacuum service be part of refurbishment?

Yes. If other components also need attention, we can include vacuum service in a wider refurbishment plan for the vessel.

Where are our samples stored during vacuum service?

Your samples can be temporarily stored in a loan vessel if needed. We agree with your team in advance how transfer, storage and return will be arranged.

Discuss your vessel's condition.

We would be happy to discuss whether vacuum service is suitable and what assessment is needed, without obligation.
