BRAIN PERFORMANCE SCAN

How well does
your cryogenic vessel perform?

Measure temperature at different levels and understand nitrogen loss and consumption. With a BRAIN Performance Scan, you receive a report and advice for your existing vessel.

WHAT DO TEMPERATURE AND CONSUMPTION TELL YOU?

Understand the vessel you already use.

A vessel may be in daily use while you have little insight into its temperature distribution or nitrogen consumption. The Performance Scan makes these visible and helps guide maintenance or improvements.

Document your situation

We discuss the vessel, its load, required storage temperatures and daily use. Measurement points, starting conditions and relevant operating events are documented.

Measure for 48 hours

Using a dedicated logger, we track temperatures at different levels and assess evaporation loss and LN₂ consumption. Filling events, lid openings and sample handling are included in the assessment.

Report with advice

You receive the measurements, graphs and our assessment. We explain the findings and recommend maintenance, vacuum service, changes to the controls or another suitable next step.

MEASUREMENTS OVER TWO DAYS

BRAIN 48-hour logging

Assess consumption and vessel temperatures together.

Over 48 hours, we record the level and agreed temperature measurement points. We include filling events, lid openings and sample handling in the assessment.

  1. Connect and documentMeasurement points, interval, vessel configuration and starting conditions.
  2. Monitor for 48 hoursLevel decrease, filling events and temperature trends inside the vessel.
  3. Assess and adviseA report with graphs, findings and practical next steps.

Level decrease is an indicator of consumption. To express it in litres per day, we use an appropriate vessel calibration and account for filling events. Vessel temperature and sample temperature are assessed separately.

A REPORT YOU CAN ACT ON

From measurements to an informed decision.

The report describes the measured conditions, the temperature at the selected heights and changes over time. We assess nitrogen loss in relation to use and recorded filling events.

We discuss which findings need attention and which next step is useful. Sometimes an adjustment or maintenance is sufficient; sometimes investigating the vacuum insulation or updating the controls is appropriate.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

What would you like to know?

When is a Performance Scan useful?

When you are unsure about an existing vessel, nitrogen consumption increases, temperatures vary, or before deciding on refurbishment or replacement.

Do you measure at different heights in the vessel?

Yes. We choose measurement points at different levels to suit the vessel and its layout. This lets us assess the temperature distribution and changes during use.

Is the example on this page an actual measurement report?

The interactive graphs use example data to explain the process. Your own report is based on the measurements and conditions of your vessel.
